Introducing Our Showroom Bar: A Collaboration with Larino Design

Since unveiling our new Experience showroom, one standout feature has captured the admiration of clients and visitors alike—the striking bar at its heart. Designed by the immensely talented Jason from Larino Design and expertly produced by SWD, this bold centerpiece is a true testament to craftsmanship and collaboration.

Jason, a London-based designer with over 20 years of global experience, is renowned for his bespoke, high-quality creations and exceptional hand-drawn designs that reflect each client’s unique aspirations. Having partnered with Jason on numerous projects over the years, bringing his vision to life for this key element of our showroom was a natural choice.

We are proud to have combined Jason’s visionary design with SWD’s production expertise to create a masterpiece that perfectly embodies our commitment to quality, innovation, and design excellence.

The Vision

When planning the extension of our showroom, we envisioned a bar that would be more than just a centerpiece—it needed to make a bold statement while offering both style and functionality. Jason’s unique design concept captured this vision perfectly, resulting in a piece that is as practical as it is striking.

With the showroom’s neutral tones as a foundation, Jason drew inspiration from the iconic design eras of the 1950s and 1960s. The Buick Riviera, a classic car celebrated for its graceful curves, served as the muse for the design. Its distinctive lines and timeless elegance were reinterpreted to bring a touch of mid-century sophistication to the bar.

The Design

Jason’s design for the bar is nothing short of a masterpiece. At its core is the striking backlit onyx worktop and back wall, creating a glowing focal point that immediately commands attention. The warm, radiant tones of the onyx are perfectly complemented by the dark green Verde Marble used for the island base and back worktop, seamlessly tying in with the surrounding green velvet wall panels for a cohesive and luxurious aesthetic.

Every detail in the design reflects Jason’s signature meticulousness. The brushed brass inlays framing the onyx island top, paired with the brass and high-gloss cladding on the front of the island, add depth and layers of texture to the space. To ensure a polished and harmonious finish, high-gloss cladding was also thoughtfully incorporated between the wall panels.

The Entrance

The bar isn’t just an impressive room—it offers a dramatic entrance that sets the tone for the entire space. Jason designed stunning arched timber crittall-style doors, finished in a dark bronze lacquer to emulate the look of metal.

Enhancing the sense of grandeur are the solid brass pull handles, intricately etched to elevate their luxurious appeal. Every element was thoughtfully designed, from the gentle curve of the arch to the detailed texture of the handles, resulting in an entrance that is both welcoming and truly memorable.

The Result

Working with Jason to design and develop the bar was a rewarding collaboration, combining his creative vision with SWD’s craftsmanship. The result is a space that exceeds expectations and consistently impresses those that witness it.
