2024 Round Up

As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a year filled with growth, innovation, and some milestones for SWD. From launching our first door collaboration with the renowned Sophie Paterson Interiors, to exhibiting at Decorex International enhanced our position as leaders in bespoke design. In addition, we expanded our showroom and introduced the ‘Experience’, alongside launching a new website to refresh our brand identity to reflect the essence of who we are today.

Launching the Sophie Paterson Collection

SWD proudly launched our first collaboration with Sophie Paterson Interiors, renowned for her timeless and distinctive interior designs. This partnership formed from frequent client requests to replicate Sophie’s iconic door design, featured in her own home. The collection offers four stunning door models, each crafted to sophistication, durability, and functionality.

  • The Surrey Model: A refined 3-panel door with intricate beading profiles.
  • The London Model: A modern take featuring a metallic bronze fluted panel, paired with a light-stained oak for a luxurious contrast.
  • The Cotswolds Model: A contemporary interpretation with shadow gap detail and soft edges, combining tradition with modern flair.
  • The Manhattan Model: A timber crittal-style glazed door finished in antique bronze liquid metal, hand-finished to achieve texture and character.

Sophie created a bespoke stain palette which includes an anthracite grey, soft taupe and light oak stain, ensuring each door complements diverse interior schemes.

We also introduced our second collaboration with Sophie Paterson Interiors: a stunning collection of three decorative metal screens designed to add a unique feature to any home. These versatile screens are perfect for creating stylish partitions without closing off spaces.

The collection features three distinct designs: Ripple, inspired by soothing water patterns; Mondrian, a geometric pattern reflecting modern precision; and Vivaldi, an intricate design of bronze rods and beaded clusters.

The SWD Showroom Experience

Unveiling our new ‘Experience’ showroom was a proud moment, having doubled the size of the existing space. With over a year in the making, our team worked hard to create an immersive space showcasing our new range of bespoke furniture, joinery, and door designs. Clients can explore designs in a realistic environment enhanced by cutting-edge technology, thanks to our collaboration with Equippd, which integrates functionality and ambiance seamlessly into homes. The showroom is fitted with the newest technology, from concealed sound systems to architectural elements. The grand opening party featured cocktails, live entertainment, and memories with family, friends, and industry partners.

Trade clients then experienced our exclusive open week, offering tailored education sessions amongst refreshments.

Decorex 2024

Decorex International at London’s Kensington Olympia was a huge milestone for SWD. Our stand showcased the best of bespoke design, including the London and Cotswolds doors from the Sophie Paterson collection, and an elegant TV shelving unit with liquid metal sliding doors. Highlights of the exhibition included arched antique brass double-glazed doors and our custom hardware range, which captivated visitors with its premium craftsmanship.

We worked alongside bespoke lighting designers, John Cullen Lighting, our stand created an immersive experience for attendees. We were thrilled to meet with industry leaders, and share our passion for design.

The team is already working on the designs for next year, and we are all excited to exhibit again and witness the other impressive stands in October 2025.

SWD Re-Brand and New Website

We were proud to unveil our refreshed brand identity and newly designed website in November, showcasing the essence of who we are today. The revamped site offers an enhanced experience, making it easier to explore our collections, discover bespoke options, and bring your vision to life. With nearly two decades of expertise, SWD has expanded beyond bespoke doors to include custom joinery and furniture, which is now all displayed on the new website.

Key highlights include an inspiring portfolio of over 150 case studies, detailed pages for each furniture piece, and a dedicated materials and finishes section. For trade clients, the SWD Pro platform offers exclusive benefits like trade discounts, flexible payment terms, and early access to collections.

2024 has been a year of transformation and growth for SWD, and as we look ahead to the future, we are more excited than ever to continue our journey in bespoke design. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way—we can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store.
