When is a Door More Than a Door_ When it’s Feng Shui!
When it can effect other areas of your life, many people believe strongly in the power of Feng Shui. Whether it is a front door of a home or the front door of a business this is where the major part of chi enters and therefore the door plays a vital role in determine the quality of feng shui experience by the household.
In feng shui, the house gets its Chi, or energy nourishment, through the external door (also called “The Mouth of Chi”) so the stronger, healthier and more balanced the front door is, the stronger and better the quality of energy available for those who live in the house. Put the wellies and umbrellas back inside…The grounds surrounding your home and leading to your front door impact the flow of chi energy. If you have obstacles blocking the front entrance of your home, they block the flow of chi.
Feng Shui – Colours and Direction
The colours of a front door should reflect the compass direction it faces according to the Five Elements and should be in balance with the elemental properties of the energies of the sector where the door is located.
See what direction your front door faces and see if a particular colour can work wonders.

Health, Wealth and Well Being.
Do you know that believers say that doors can affect your health and wealth and well being! Is your money flying out quicker than coming in? Are you and your loved ones constantly arguing? A reason might be that doors in a hallway are just out of alignment. Hallways doors either need to be perfectly aligned or not at all! However one door that should NEVER be in alignment with a back door or bathroom is the front door. If it is and you cannot change the layout then quickly hang some crystals or wind chimes in the space between the doors, as this is believed to slow down the rushing Chi and will help prevent your wealth from rushing in and out or even at worse going down the toilet!
Who said size doesn’t matter?!
So many things can effect the Feng Shui and door choice – things like the size of the door, should always be in proportion to the size of the property – a little hut shouldn’t have a big door and mansion shouldn’t have a tiny one! Get it wrong and you might find your wealth and career is adversely effected! Make sure the front door is the largest door in the house though. Ensure that your door opens inwards as this is a welcoming motion and pulls in good energy as shown with one of our recent projects we installed a high gloss traditional external door that allows chi to flow directly into your home.
We may not be Feng Shui experts but we certainly are front door experts and will endeavour to make sure the very best of energies flow through your home. All of our external doors are bespoke made to your sizes and requirements if you would like to discuss your requirements further please contact us.
