We supplied these as pre hung door sets with a 120x30mm stepped architrave. The doors are 2.4 metres in height. The architraves were painted a light grey colour rather than white, to compliment the decor. These doors were fire rated to FD30. The main doors were fitted with polished stainless steel pull handles, with the rest of the R100 doors employing polished lever handles.TheSatini door is a stylish modern contemporary external door which is one of our best contemporary sellers. It Features a Solid Wood construction with Horizontal Boards and Vertical side styles. The Satini door can be made from various hardwoods, mainly European Oak, Iroko, Idigbo, Sapele and Accoya.All these woods are appropriate for external use. We always supply this as a complete pre hung door set. Either with a matching frame or white frame. This offers a seamless finish, improved security, lower maintenance and better draught proofing & insulation.All these woods can be stained darker to a number of bespoke colours. The way the door is constructed it is 57mm thick, it can go up to 2.5m in height by 1.2m wide. The side stiles and top and bottom rails are made of solid wood with mortice and tenon joinery.Mortice and Tenon joinery has been used for thousands of years bywoodworkersaround the world to join pieces ofwood, mainly when the adjoining pieces connect at an angle of 90°.In its basic form it is both simple and strong.The internal panel has a thermal core to produce excellent U values ratings, and either side of this core are tounge and grooved planks which can run either vertical or horizontal which are normally about 110mm wide.What are U ValuesU-ValueThe co-efficient of heat transmission or thermal transmittance. U-values measure how effective a material is an insulator. In simple terms, the lower the U-value, the better and more energy efficient the door is, retaining the heat in your house. The lower/better the U-Value of your home the lower the energy consumption.The doors after staining are varnished with a micro porous UV protective vanish which not only enhances the beauty of our doors it ensures that our doors don’t fade when exposed to sunlight. Equally important, this is a Natural varnish and microporous finish which does not crack, flake, peel or blister. It is water and dirt resistant, moisture regulating and reduces wood swelling and shrinkage.Consequently, it has been developed to resist against weathering, whilst maintaining the wood’s natural appearance, it is ideal for external doors and other vertically structured joinery to block the greying process of the wood by a UV-protection. Extra Tall Sliding DoorsThis project below in St George’s Hill is an impressive 17,000 square ft residence for which weproduced sliding doors that consisted of four doors set together using our modelC27at an imposing 2.7M high x 4M across.
Extra Tall Bi-Folding DoorsWe greatly enjoyed the opportunity to display our products alongside an interior designer to create this luxurious project. The door model used for these tall bi-folding doors was our classic 2 panelR101with a white lacquered finish incorporating a glazed upper panel. The door height is an extra tall 2.25 metres. Upstairs we finished the property with standard sized doorswith a dark wedge stain on walnut.
InspirationBelow we have used our Lattice standard sized doors with floor to ceiling sidelights and matching fanlight. To showcase the high ceilings, and to add something a little different, we installed matching lattice room dividers. This placed a strong emphasis on the fantastic high ceilings and created a spectacular top end look which enabled light to flood in and maximise the feeling of space.
