We worked closely with the architectural designers of this luxurious refurbished apartment in London’s prestigious Knightsbridge. Our client sought a classical door design with a modern twist, opting for our two-panel R131 model.

Throughout the grand hallway, the towering 2600mm door sets feature layered panels, complementing the stepped architraves and rectangular plinth blocks. Safety was ensured with FD30 fire-rated doors, complete with intumescent strips and furnished with fire-certified ironmongery.

A custom stain was created to complement the client’s oak flooring, bringing out the darker tones to accentuate the doors against the light interiors. The architraves and door frames were made in a matching finish, elevating the impressive sizse of the doors even further. In other areas, primed doors were painted white on-site.

From SWD’s Bespoke Hardware collection, the Plaza lever, crafted from solid brass, added the perfect finishing touch to each door. Our bespoke levers are larger than many other handles on the market, which makes them the perfect selection for larger doors. Magnetic locks and latches provided a modern, minimalist look, seamlessly integrated within the door.

Maximising space efficiency, two pocket doors were seamlessly integrated into the property, featuring cage systems we supplied with premium features such as touch latch and soft close mechanisms, ensuring effortless operation. A bevelled mirror was added to the door in the master dressing room, optimising space-saving functionality.
