SWD celebrates the Evening Standards ‘Best Luxury Home’ of 2019

2019 has been an exciting year of growth and continued excellence for SWD, not least for the recognition given to one of our luxury projects in the Evening Standard New Homes Awards. Judged by readers, the awards champion inventive design, hi-tech features and quality finishes. Winner of ‘Best Luxury Home’ was Wellington House in Surrey, introduced as a “French Provincial-inspired mansion” with a “lavish, meticulously crafted interior with Art Deco and midcentury modern flourishes”.

The new build residence is set in an exclusive gated estate in Esher and boasts 16,000sq ft of space, six bedrooms featuring his and hers dressing rooms and an extensive collection of exquisite doors, if we do say so ourselves. We know that first impressions count which is why every detail exudes elegance from the moment you walk through the double entrance doors, standing at a grand height of 2700mm and furnished with iron lattice work, tinted double glazed glass and areal metal finish. After being shown a photograph of the desired front door, SWD worked to match the design and exceed our client’s expectations with an imposing and memorable entrance that exemplifies our quality craftsmanship.SWD celebrates the Evening Standards ‘Best Luxury Home’ of 2019By SWD Bespoke2019 has been an exciting year of growth and continued excellence for SWD, not least for the recognition given to one of our luxury projects in theEvening Standard New Homes Awards. We know that first impressions count which is why every detail exudes elegance from the moment you walk through the double entrance doors, standing at a grand height of 2700mm and furnished with iron lattice work, tinted double glazed glass and a real metal finish. After being shown a photograph of the desired front door, SWD worked to match the design and exceed our client’s expectations with an imposing and memorable entrance that exemplifies our quality craftsmanship. Glazed doors in the hallway create a sense of flow within the home and allow an abundance of natural light in, illuminating the impressive helical staircase at the heart of Wellington House. SWD also supplied all of the ironmongery including the hinges, locks, latches and handles finished in polished chrome for a touch of understated glamour. Not only is our ironmongery a safe choice for taking the weight of our heavy doors, it has also been thoughtfully designed to complement the quality and finish of the doors themselves. Our skilled team of specialists can apply the joinery to work in any space as demonstrated in Wellington House which featured an unusual curved wall, requiring joinery which reflected the shape without compromising on storage space. Whilst ironmongery and joinery may not seem like the most exciting part of the process, SWD believes that perfection is found in the particulars, after all, you can’t win ‘Best Luxury Home’ without having an eye for detail. We hope we’ve given you some interior inspiration with this award-winning project, read more about this exclusive projecthere.
